Placement Desription
As a sessional support assistant you will be required to;
- Support the class leader in a range of activities before, during and after the session. These duties include setting up, maintaining and packing away soft plat and craft materials, interacting with parents carers and children to ensure they feel relaxed, listened to guided and supported.
- Support children in tasks and activities that aid their development.
- Take direction from the class leader when supporting children with additional need and maintaining an inclusive and fair environment throughout.
- There will also be some general housekeeping involved, such as washing up, cleaning and help with serving hot drinks and food.
If the applicant feels comfortable there will be scope to create and lead their own activities where suitable.
The hours are as follows:
- Tuesday (West Derby) 12pm – 4pm Soft Play session followed by a session for children with additional needs
- Every other Wednesday (West Derby) 8:30am – 11:30am Community Coffee Morning
- Thursday (Rainhill) 8am – 11:45am Stay and Play Session
- Friday (West Derby) 9am -12pm and 12:30pm -3:30pm Soft Play session followed by a Stay and Play session
