Placement Desription
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the receiving, labelling and laboratory analysis of samples and chemicals in line with documented Quality and EHS Procedures
Gain an understanding of the methods and storage of all data and results in the stipulated format (paper and electronic)
Assist in maintenance of the Laboratory equipment as necessary
Assist with the ordering of Laboratory supplies to facilitate testing as required
Follow all Laboratory and site safety guidelines and procedures are followed at all times.
Maintain a clean orderly environment at all time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
This opportunity is available to students studying on the BTEC Diploma/Extended Diploma in Applied Science
Have completed secondary education and attained at least 5 GCSE’s or equivalent to include English and Maths
Competencies and Personal Attributes
Flexible in attitude and working hours
Good organisational and planning skills
Shows dedication and pride in their work
Display analytical skills, work accurately and quickly
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise work assigned to them
Be enthusiastic and determination to learn
Possess drive and determination
IT competent e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word
