A message from your Student Union President, Abdi Saed:

Hello Students,

Firstly, I’d like to give you a warm welcome to the Students’ Union and look forward to an unforgettable year packed with tons of fun activities, events and experiences!  I just wanted to introduce myself as your President of the Union and outline some of my aims for the year.

It is my role to help bring your ideas about college to life, especially when it comes to events, trips, clubs and societies.  I want students to get the most out of college and make the few years spent here an enriching and memorable time.  As a past student myself, I understand that not all students know about the opportunities the Students’ Union has to offer and therefore don’t get the chance to participate in extra-curricular activities.  I intend to change this by opening the door to events and activities throughout the college which I hope will build on the quality of communication between staff, students, and college centres.

I am very motivated and hardworking and I would like to re-create the image of the student union as a very involved and fun environment for students to really enjoy themselves.  As a student in the past, I have found that college can be stressful at times so I would like to make the journey for all students easier and more enjoyable.

The City of Liverpool College and the Students’ Union have diverse and high quality services to take advantage of – so make sure you get involved and make the most of your college experience.

My aims as President:

  • To meet as many students as possible
  • To start up and help start up many clubs and societies suited to different people’s needs and interests
  • To be a voice for the students and lead change within the college
  • To create a lot of fun events in the college for students to attend
  • To arrange more trips for students to go on.
  • To represent students higher up in the college hierarchy

If you would like to meet me, come to the Student Room in the Learning Exchange (2/46).
