Soft Scoop Records Celebrates Five Years

Music and Music Technology students past and present were involved in performing, recording and producing the albums on the College’s Soft Scoop label, to showcase the talents of students and performers from across the region over the past five years. Just The Beginning, features a collection of brand new independent signings, while Soft Scoop V: The Best of Soft Scoop, is a digitally remastered assortment of the label’s most successful releases.

Curriculum Team Leader of Music, Kojo Osei, said: “I am really proud of all the students involved and the professionalism and dedication they’ve shown to make this a success. Not only will they walk away with a nationally recognised qualification, but they’ll also have gained invaluable experience of what it takes to release music commercially, as well as the fundamental knowledge of the core aspects involved when running a music business in an entrepreneurial capacity.”

Money raised from sales of the albums is reinvested in the business and used to finance future releases on the Soft Scoop label.

Just the Beginning and Soft Scoop V: The Best of Soft Scoop are now available to stream or purchase worldwide at all major digital stores including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon & Google Play.
