Students raise funds for therapy dogs charity
Health & Social Care students recently embarked on a project to raise much needed funds for a national therapy charity.
Volunteers, together with a number of clients who are supported by the charity, Therapy Dogs Nationwide, visited the Learning Exchange (Roscoe Street) on Friday 3 Feb to talk about their valuable work and accept a cheque for £406.34, which students raised from a sponsored walk.
This UK charity is run solely by volunteers and provides a service that brings comfort, therapy and learning, to promote the advancement of health. The temperament-assessed dogs and their handlers visit schools, nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, and other similar institutions throughout England and Wales.
