Students champion dementia awareness
Congratulations to Health and Social Care students who recently completed the Alzeimer’s Society training to become ‘dementia friends’.
The student champions will promote dementia awareness, both at work and amongst family and friends.
In the UK alone, there are 850,000 people living with dementia, including over 700,000 people in England, over 45,000 in Wales, nearly 20,000 in Northern Ireland and 70,000 people in Scotland.
By 2025, this figure is expected to rise to more than 1 million, with numbers projected to exceed 2 million by 2050.
