College teams up with LWO to launch Entrepreneurs’ Competition
City of Liverpool College students will benefit from funding from the Liverpool Women’s Organisation (LWO) as a result of their work in disadvantaged communities.
The £29,000 awarded will be used to support the organisation’s #IAmEnterprising programme where students can pitch their own business idea for a chance to win a £3,000 prize package.
Students will have between now and April 2016 to engage with the #IAmEnterprising team in a series of activities that will help them to develop their business knowledge through different rounds of the competition. The programme will be run internally by the college’s student engagement team.
The LWO was commended by the panel of judges for their work in diverse communities helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn new skills to get them back into the world of work or set up their own business.
