Head Chef returns to The Academy

Head Chef at award winning Inn on the Lake Hotel returned to his former training ground recently to host a pop up restaurant.

Eddie Kilty, who studied professional cookery at The City of Liverpool College, worked with students from the college’s own award winning training restaurant, The Academy,

to produce a five course creative cooking taster menu focused on dishes using produce from the North West region – and a hint of inspiration from his Cumbrian experiences.

Chef Eddie has spent the last six months working with students at the Rosette awarded restaurant who are enrolled on the same course he followed more than 11 years ago.

The Inn on the Lake provided the chefs in training with an opportunity to further their skills and gain valuable experience as they were put through their paces in this busy

working environment.

Eddie said: To be successful the students need passion and an opportunity to succeed.  I know how hard it can be to get a job in a top restaurant so I wanted to provide work

experience opportunities for them to see all demanding aspects of this challenging occupation.”
