The City of Liverpool College Enterprise Society
We are The City of Liverpool College Enterprise Society in the making.
You may watch our 2 minute pitch on you tube:
We are 12 founding members of the society and we all study the BTEC Level 3 Business Course, but we hope for our society to grow. We have come up with a number of event ideas:
Business Enterprise Days will run once every term, 3 times a year.
One of our ideas that we have come up with is a business enterprise day which is composed of guest speakers brought in from successful local businesses to provide knowledge to future hopeful entrepreneurs.
The E-Factor Enterprise Competition.
Another idea is The E-Factor competition. This is a Dragon’s Den-style competition giving college students the opportunity to win a small sum of start-up fund for their own business-start up or event idea and will receive additional support.
Social Enterprise and fund-raising.
Another idea we have thought of will be a fundraiser to support local charities and local social enterprise initiatives. We would organise events that can be hosted in the college restaurant. We are going to ask around the college for anyone wanting to be a part of the event and will be providing music, dance, fashion show or drama pieces all presented by college students. Money raised from these events will support local students for their own social enterprise project. Part of the profit will be used to support a charity for Lupus. We would like to bring awareness to this disease as a lot of people are unaware of it. A panel of judges will decide on which social enterprise initiative will be supported from the income.
We would like to apply for a £2000 initial funding from Nacue which will aid us in hosting these events and will provide support for students wanting to start their own small business.
We will raise awareness of enterprise opportunities and support entrepreneurial skills and ideas that our college students have. We will link with a wide range of local business and entrepreneurs, from retail to construction, and make it possible for them to share their experiences with our students. We will also support development of social enterprises, and support charities.
