Recruitment Event drives jobs for the future
Motor vehicle and engineering students at the City of Liverpool College were given a valuable insight recently into working life at one of the largest car manufacturers in the country.
Representatives from Vauxhall Motors in Ellesmere Port visited the college to speak to more than sixty students about manufacturing and engineering careers available in the industry, including apprenticeships, graduate positions and work placements. Staff from the car manufacturer’s Ellesmere Port plant outlined a range of opportunities, particularly for levels 2-4 apprenticeships including engineering and maintenance; production support; electrical and mechanical maintenance; robot programming; and programmable logic controllers.
The event provided potential future employees with information about upcoming vacancies at the manufacturing and engineering plant, the entry requirements needed for each career and the job application process.
A spokesperson for the car producer said: “There are a range of exciting opportunities available for those wanting to work in manufacturing and engineering and I would encourage people to make an application.”
Vauxhall Motors is one of the largest employers in the country employing around 35,000 people, including over 100 graduates and 74 apprentices.
