Students exhibit work at Liverpool’s Tate Gallery
The City of Liverpool College students have been given a unique opportunity to exhibit their work at Liverpool’s Tate art gallery.
The exhibition entitled Welcome to My World brings together the work of more than eighty young Liverpudlians from across the City, introducing audiences to a range of issues affecting young people, as seen through their eyes.
Sixty Level 3 Art and Design students pursued the theme through a mix of mediums including self portrait, multi disciplinary art specialisms and self focused film interviews.
The project is the result of work by artist, photographer and filmmaker Joann Kushner and the Tate Volunteers and links to communities in New York through music and
poetry and a festival dedicated to the voice of young people of the region that will take place later this year.
The private viewing at Tate Liverpool for the first stage of “Welcome to My World” is on Friday 31.01.14, and runs through to 28 February 10-5pm daily (free).
