Language Courses are Key to Success

The programme was developed in response to enquiries from existing College students wanting to take a nationally recognised qualification in their own language.

The first stage of this GCSE programme will run courses in Farsi, Polish, Portuguese and Mandarin, with an opportunity to add further languages to the offer, depending upon public demand.  The 12 week courses will run in the evening from March 2014 at the College’s Clarence Street centre.

The programme was also developed to meet the needs of the City’s multi cultural communities and their desire to maintain high academic standards. Research has identified that high levels of competence in their mother tongue leads students on to greater success in subjects delivered in English.

Its a great initiative! Anyone interested in learning Punjabi? The college needs at least 8 students to join a language before it can be set up.

    Thanks!
